Candy Cane Mounts 5 Foot

$47.95$59.95

3D Printed mounting system for the 5 foot tall Gilbert Engineering Candy Canes. The mounts utilize 1/2″ EMT conduit and provide a frame structure behind the coro to increase strength and allow mounting to various surfaces. Note: The design changed in 2024 from 132 pixels to 150 pixels and the mounts are specific to the pixel count. Be sure to verify which version you have prior to ordering.

There are two styles of mounts for the Candy Canes. The standard mount includes three mounts, a base mount, a mid mount and a top mount. The mounts are only located on the main body of the candy cane. The mega mount version includes the same mounts as the standard version and two additional mounts to support the hook portion of the candy cane. On the mega mount the two 90 degree bends in the EMT are made using two 1/2″ PVC elbows with included EMT to PVC bushings. If you have any questions please contact us prior to ordering. Colors may vary, typically they are white or black. If you have a specific color request for white or black please include a note indicating your preference with your order, but keep in mind that it may increase processing time for in-stock items. Includes 3D printed parts only.

Note: The hole patterns on the main body of the 5 foot candy canes is offset a few degrees from running parallel to the edge of the prop. Thus if you center the mounts on the pixel holes the centerline of the mounts won’t perfectly align. The mounts have large enough pixel openings to account for this discrepancy. For installation it is recommended to mark the centerline of the prop between the middle rows of pixels and align the centerline of the mounts to that mark. Then don’t fully tighten the zip ties on the mounts until you run the EMT conduit through all the mount pieces so the position can be adjusted as necessary.

For freestanding installation use 1/2″ rebar and drive the rebar into the ground. Then slide the candy canes over top of the rebar and use landscape stakes in the holes on the base mount to prevent turning. Wind and height can make a secure installation challenging. Try and utilize 3 feet or longer rebar and go at least 1.5 feet into the ground depending on soil. The deeper the rebar goes into the ground and the taller it sticks out and fits inside of the EMT, the stronger your pixel pole will stand. Guy wires are recommended on the 5 foot candy canes if you live in a wind prone area.

As with all our designs, we strive to utilize the precut zip tie hole locations for our mounts. However, these pre-made holes don’t always align perfectly for optimal mount placement, which means you may need to create additional holes in the coro to secure the mounts with zip ties.

General instructions for attaching mounts to coro props, including zip tie hole alignment, can be found by clicking this link.

3D printing parts is a slow process and we have a whole print farm running 24/7 to fulfill orders and build stock of the more popular items. If you order a product that shows “made to order” we will move it directly to the print queue where it will be printed as soon as possible. While normal processing times for most orders with made to order items is less than a week, it can fluctuate. Very large orders can also experience longer than normal processing times as well because of the high number of hours it takes to produce lots of parts. If processing times are expected to be longer than two weeks before shipping, there will be a banner at the top of the website indicating the expected wait times. See the FAQ page for more info.

All of our 3D printed parts use PETG filament which provides good flexibility and resistance to UV exposure when used seasonally.
