Note: The hole patterns on the main body of the 5 foot candy canes is offset a few degrees from running parallel to the edge of the prop. Thus if you center the mounts on the pixel holes the centerline of the mounts won’t perfectly align. The mounts have large enough pixel openings to account for this discrepancy. For installation it is recommended to mark the centerline of the prop between the middle rows of pixels and align the centerline of the mounts to that mark. Then don’t fully tighten the zip ties on the mounts until you run the EMT conduit through all the mount pieces so the position can be adjusted as necessary.
For freestanding installation use 1/2″ rebar and drive the rebar into the ground. Then slide the candy canes over top of the rebar and use landscape stakes in the holes on the base mount to prevent turning. Wind and height can make a secure installation challenging. Try and utilize 3 feet or longer rebar and go at least 1.5 feet into the ground depending on soil. The deeper the rebar goes into the ground and the taller it sticks out and fits inside of the EMT, the stronger your pixel pole will stand. Guy wires are recommended on the 5 foot candy canes if you live in a wind prone area.
3D printing parts is a slow process and we have a whole print farm running 24/7 to fulfill orders and build stock of the more popular items. If you order a product on backorder we will move it directly to the print queue where it will be printed as soon as possible. While normal processing times for most orders with backordered items is less than a week, it can fluctuate from time to time around 1-2 weeks. Very large orders can also experience longer than normal processing times as well. If processing times are expected to be longer than two weeks before shipping, there will be a banner at the top of the website indicating the expected wait times. Additionally very large orders could have longer delays due to the vast number of printer hours required for production of the parts. We will contact you and let you know the expected production time if it were to exceed the estimated timeline for very large orders. See the FAQ page for more info.
All of our 3D printed parts use PETG filament which provides good flexibility and resistance to UV exposure when used seasonally.
