Grand Illusion Mount

Price range: $46.95 through $48.95

This 3D printed mounting system is designed specifically for the Gilbert Engineering Baby Grand Illusion prop. Each bracket is secured to the coro with zip ties and sized for either 1/2″ or 3/4″ EMT conduit, depending on your selection (3/4 EMT is recommended because of the final weight of the prop). The conduit slides through the mounts to form the frame and at the center junction a corresponding 1/2″ or 3/4″ PVC cross is used to connect the perpendicular conduit sections, with included bushings to adapt for EMT’s slightly smaller diameter. Once the conduit is in place, it is fastened to the mounts with screws, locking everything together to create a strong, rigid structure behind the prop. This setup provides excellent stability for mounting to various surfaces and is especially useful for reinforcing props that have been split for shipping. Colors may vary, although black is most common. If you have a specific color request for black or white please include a note indicating your preference with your order, but keep in mind that it may increase processing time for in-stock items. Includes the 3D printed parts only; conduit, PVC cross, screws, and zip ties are not included.

The very first Grand Illusions that were made prior to mid 2020 have a larger circular opening at the center of the prop. In the unlikely event that you have one of these older versions or think you may have one, please message us prior to ordering so we can verify and make a different style of center mount for the prop.

As with all our designs we strive to utilize the precut zip tie hole locations for our mounts, but making additional holes is sometimes necessary. On the Grand Illusion the center mount holes were moved inward from the original location and are now very close to the edge of the prop as well as being very tightly spaced. This could lead to the zip ties tearing the coro, so we have elected to retain the original zip tie locations for better strength, but you will have to make new zip tie holes on the coro. For the top and bottom mounts we utilize some additional holes beyond the premade ones.

General instructions for attaching mounts to coro props, including zip tie hole alignment, can be found by clicking this link.

3D printing parts is a slow process and we have a whole print farm running 24/7 to fulfill orders and build stock of the more popular items. If you order a product that shows “made to order” we will move it directly to the print queue where it will be printed as soon as possible. While normal processing times for most orders with made to order items is less than a week, it can fluctuate. Very large orders can also experience longer than normal processing times as well because of the high number of hours it takes to produce lots of parts. If processing times are expected to be longer than two weeks before shipping, there will be a banner at the top of the website indicating the expected wait times. See the FAQ page for more info.

All of our 3D printed parts use PETG filament which provides good flexibility and resistance to UV exposure when used seasonally.
