Are the prop mounts compatible with Gumdrop, Evo and Seed pixels?

Our prop mounts were originally designed for traditional bullet pixels, which have wires exiting out the back. Pixels like Gumdrop, Evo, and Seed have wires that come out the sides, and that difference makes compatibility a little more complicated. Here’s what to expect:

Gumdrop Pixels – Unfortunately, Gumdrops just don’t play well with prop mounts. They don’t fit securely in coro props to begin with, and their larger base plus side-exiting wires mean they won’t fit through most prop mounts either. Making them work would require oversized holes, which would weaken the mounts and aren’t practical for most high-density props. For that reason, we don’t recommend Gumdrops for this setup.

Evo Pixels – These are much more workable. Instead of trying to push them through the mount (which sometimes isn’t possible because of the side wires and smaller pixel hole diameters on certain HD props), the better approach is to install the Evos directly into the coro first. Once the pixels are in place, simply set the mounts over top, wires and all. If you lay the wires flat against the coro and secure them with a bit of electrical tape, you’ll get a cleaner look while also giving the wires some extra protection.

Seed Pixels – Seeds behave very similarly to Evos and are best installed the same way. On most props, you’ll get the best results by seating the pixels in the coro first and then placing the mounts over them. If you’re using inserts to convert a prop originally cut for bullets, they’re generally compatible, but insert designs can vary and may affect fit. For props designed specifically for Seed pixels, the process is simple: install the pixels, lay the wires flat, and secure them with electrical tape for both protection and a clean finish.
